Phone Consultation
After a brief conversation about your current mental health concerns and after answering any questions you may have, the therapist will determine if they’re the best person to meet your needs.
At the end of the phone consultation the therapist will schedule your appointment and email you intake paperwork for you to complete prior to your first session (intake).

First Session (Intake)
During this session, you and your therapist will spend time getting to know each other. The following will occur during this session:
Therapist’s introduction and explanation of policies
Discussion about what brings you to therapy
Review of your intake paperwork
Discussion about your goals for therapy
Scheduling for future sessions

Individual Session
These sessions occur after the first session (intake). You and your therapist will work towards your identified goals.
Each session will be tailored to your needs and preferences. Sessions can take place in the office, in the park, or via phone or videochat.
If you choose Walk & Talk Therapy or Outdoor Play Therapy, your sessions will occur at a local Honolulu park.

Brief Individual Session
This session length may be the most appropriate for some children and teens. Young adults may choose this session length as well.
These sessions will be conducted via phone or videochat. This session length isn’t available for In Office Therapy, Walk & Talk Therapy or Outdoor Play Therapy.

payment options
We only accept HMSA, HMAA, and UHA insurance plans. We are considered out of network for all other plans. For self-pay clients, we accept debit, credit, and HSA/FSA cards via our secure HIPAA compliant online payment system.
Some insurance companies provide reimbursements for out-of-network services. We can provide a Superbill receipt that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
Please speak with your insurance provider about your out-of-network benefits prior to scheduling an appointment.
student rate

$75/session. We’re happy to provide the college/graduate student rate because we understand that some university and community college counseling centers have limited availability and resources. We have limited spots available at this rate. Student ID card & proof of enrollment required. Please call or email us to secure a spot.

no diagnosis
If you choose not to use your insurance coverage, we aren’t required to give you a mental health diagnosis or a “label” that justifies why you need therapy or for how long. Additionally, a diagnosis becomes a permanent part of your medical record that can impact your future insurance policies and benefits. You are not defined by a diagnosis; you are a beautiful human being who deserves healing.
increased privacy
You have complete privacy and confidentiality. Your personal information is secured in our HIPAA compliant electronic health record system and third-party companies don’t have access to any of your information. This means that your insurance company can’t dictate what kind of care you receive, how often you can be seen or what would work best for you. You and your therapist decide what best fits your needs!

cancel/reschedule
Please contact your therapist via phone or email at least 48 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule your session.
cancellation fee
Late Cancel - Full Fee: fee applies if you cancel or reschedule AFTER the 48 hour cancellation period. Insurance does not cover late cancel fees.
no show fee
You will be charged the full fee if you do not show up to your scheduled session. Insurance does not cover no show fees.
